Fred's interest in wine sprung to life while pursuing a communications degree in San Francisco. A traditional university classroom and textbook wine education quickly lead to wine country opportunities.
Choosing not to brag about degrees and credentials, he quickly gives credit to those wine makers and vineyard managers who have given him a more "hands on education."
Fred's extensive knowledge and appreciation for wine also comes from a long association with the Oregon wine industry where he is respected for being largely "self taught."
